Hi everyone,
I been away for quite a while and it is time to start working on the CHP project again.

First thing I have to do is finish the machining of the adaptor plate for the 5 quart oil pan on the Kubota Z482. The oil pan has to be moved forward so the Hayes PTO housing can be installed. I have the prints made now I just have to get it machined.

I will update on the progress.

I just finished the adaptor plate to fit on a larger oil pan on the Kubota Z482. It came out pretty well.
I did not use the large low profile oil pan that gives the small Z482 engine a total oil capacity of 5 quarts. The engine could of suffered oil drainage proplems back to the pan on the back half of the engine. So this is what I did is I had a deep oil pan  from a three cylinder Kubota Z722 that gives the engine 4 quarts capacity and made the adaptor plate fit this pan.
I can finally start assembeling the the drivetrain. Smiley

Oil pan is installed and tomorrow I will install the Hays Housing. After that I will start working on the radiator bracket.

Getting close to fire up the engine.

Just finished installing the flywheel and Hayes housing. The engine is back on the pad and next is the radiator.

I hope to have the power pack mounted soon.

I am hoping that I can get to the welder tomorrow to get the modified radiator brackets welded. Then a little primer and paint. I hope to get the radiator mounted tomorrow.

Still don't have pictures. I hope to post some soon.

Radiator brackets were welded, painted and installed this afternoon. The radiator assembly is mounted.

Next is to plump the secondery fuel filter and housing assembly between the fuel pump and injector pump.

After that is the muffler.

Almost ready to do a test run on the engine.

Sorry guys, I just did not have the time to stop and get batteries for the camera.

I will see if I can find time to get some soon. All the free time has been spent on the project and fishing with my daughter.

Secondary fuel filter system is complete. I have two new left over filter units and 5 filter cartages I kept from the Kubota EA300 engine that I traded for this Z482 Power Unit. about 6 months ago. It is great not having to buy anything.

The Primary fuel system is next. The same thing applies here. I found a new complete filter unit on a shelf in the garage from the Cat C0.5 engine I sold.

Boy, somtimes it is great being pack rat! Right now I am sure glad I have all this clutter in the garage. Otherwise I would not have come this far with the project.

Did a test run today to see how fast the engine reaches operating temp when cold. It took aprox 2 minutes for engine coolant to reach operating temp. I need to post pictures of the muffler setup. The muffler that flywheel purchased for his Perkins 2 cylinder engine. this muffler fits perfect on the Kubota Z482 so I highly recommend this Muffler for the Kubota Z482 and Z602 engines with the 2" square 4 bolt flange exhaust manifold exiting on the left side. They are very quiet and the build of this muffler might be the last you will need.

Please note: This muffler is only temperary. A heat exchanger will hopefully be in the works.
