Just out of curiosity ? If John Q Public wanted to purchase a couple of totes of light sweet crude for off road use. Is it even possible in the USA or Canada? Assuming of course the purchaser knows enough to stay upwind of the H2S fumes .

hmmmmmm,

I'm under the impression that Off Road or #2 diesel a processed and dyed diesel from crude.  I burn it in two furnaces but the die keeps most users from putting it in motor vehicles that are used public streets.

My Witte has one guideline for fuel "Use No Crude."  Crude to me means off the well-head.

Around here its $2.94 US per US gallon here or $1.05 Canadian a liter for coloured delivered to farm. Just as cheap to purchase clear at the  pumps.
